1951 Ford F3 for sale in Charlotte, North Carolina

$15,995

We have a request to the new owner of this awesome 1954 Ford F3 pickup: please dont restore it! The incredible original patina is absolutely impossible to duplicate, and theres nothing cooler today than 50s nostalgia. With a cool working-garage finish to the paint, and complete with period signage, it would be a sin to cover it up with modern paint. Instead, why not put it to work chasing parts for your vintage car project, or as the ultimate advertisement for your business? We cant say for sure when Mikes Garage acquired this pickup, although its likely that another hobbyist like you recognized the potential of the truck and kept the vintage illusion alive. At any rate, the markings look suitably ancient, and perfectly compliment the faded, but not worn-out paint job. Theres still some gloss to the black fenders and forest green body, but not so much that youll ever need to worry about wax. Theres also no rust, no accident damage, and no signs that this truck was ever an abused workhorse. Even the wood bed in back has a suitable feeling of age to it, without losing any functionality. Go ahead, throw a salvaged flathead back there, or maybe a set of 16-inch wire wheels for your highboy, it wont mind. Basic accommodations inside match the body, and not only does this truck have a great look, but its also ready to be used as-is. Not worn out, merely worn in, its the ultimate garage hauler, because you dont need to worry about getting dirt on the upholstery or mud on the bare rubber floor mats. The dash is industrial-grade, and the massive steering wheel makes wheeling around town easier than youd expect. And yes, all the gauges are functional. That tall shifter controls a factory 4-speed, but before you worry that its been modified, realize that first gear is for climbing hills with a load of firewood or a trailer full of livestock-first gear will practically climb a wall at idle. Fortunately, thanks to the rugged 221 cubic inch inline-six under the hood, you probably wont need that granny gear. Making 95 horsepower (about the same as the flathead V8), it happily churns along with a truck-like burble from the tailpipe and moves the truck easily enough for around town parts chasing. Like the rest of the truck, it sure looks original under the hood, and if this isnt a survivor, some artist has created the perfect facsimile, because it seems authentic throughout. The bright red paint on the block was Ford-issue, the oil-bath air cleaner still lives atop the 1-barrel carburetor, and it still uses six-volt electrics. The chassis is solid and rust-free, with components that look strong enough to live under a railroad car. Even the big, red steel wheels wearing giant Michelins look work-ready. So please, dont even think about putting a shiny paint job on this truck. Put it to work instead, because nothings cooler than a vintage hauler with history. Call today!
