1969 Plymouth Road Runner for sale in Charlotte, North Carolina

$169,900

Our latest offering is this 472 HEMI powered 1969 Plymouth Road Runner. Custom built from its Cross Ram intake to its Boyd Coddington rear wheels, this car is brutally appealing and dangerously fast. Bathed in Mopar R3 red, this Road Runner benefitted from a professional frame up restoration in 2006 and retains all original panels. New chrome trim is kept to a minimum to highlight the cars intentionally simplistic design and new Road Runner decals and script emblems on the doors add just enough detail to complete the look. A traditional flat black Road Runner A-12 style lift off hood featuring four chrome hood pins and a custom red 472 Hemi decal on its scoop tops everything off. Under that A-12 style hood is an incredible Ray Barton 472 HEMI Cross Ram engine equipped with two Holley 770 carburetors, HEMI Stage V aluminum heads, a Be Cool aluminum radiator complete with electric cooling fan, a deep sump oil pan, an MSD coil, a billet distributor, Moroso wires, a chrome Powermaster performance alternator, a billet serpentine belt system and ceramic long tube headers. Underneath the car a McLeod hydraulic clutch, housed within a scatter shield, mates to a Tremec 5-speed transmission to throw power to a narrowed Moser Engineering Dana 60 rear end that runs 325/50/15 BF Goodrich G-Force drag radials on 15X12 Boyd Coddington Smoothie wheels. Keeping those drag radials connected to the pavement is welded monoleaf springs, new rear shocks, welded sub frame connectors and CalTracs traction bars. Up front the motor rides on an aftermarket K member and a Bill Riley Motorsports AlterKtion front end kit that connects to pavement via 157 Boyd Coddington Smoothie wheels with 215/70/15 BF Goodrich radials. Flaming River Industries rack and pinion power steering, a Bill Riley Motorsports sway bar, tubular control arms and QA1 Motorsports coilover shocks combine to provide modern handling characteristics. Wilwood front brakes and Stainless Steel rear brakes are aided by an electric vacuum pump to clamp drilled and slotted front rotors and slotted rear rotors to bring all that power and weight to a safe halt. The interior includes new buckets covered in black Ultraleather upholstery with real suede leather inserts, custom door panels, billet pedals, a billet steering wheel with a tilt column and a long custom wrapped console with a custom wood insert. A custom dash features AutoMeter Pro Comp gauges, air conditioning and a Sony Xplod CD player. Documentation for this car includes two huge binders full of information and receipts from the build.
