2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am for sale in Charlotte, North Carolina

$37,900

If you review our sold inventory, youll see quite a few late Firehawks on the list. Low-mileage examples that have been expertly maintained typically sell within daystheyre incredibly popular, even nearly ten years after production ended. Sometimes, however, we get truly exceptional cars, and this supercharged Firehawk with just 7228 original miles certainly qualifies. Fast, black, and fully documented, this is the Firehawk to own if youre looking for the ultimate street brawler. I usually start talking about cars by introducing you to the body, and the panels on this Firehawk are clean and straight, but the real appeal is under the hood, so I thought wed begin there instead. With a pile of receipts for all the work, theres a good $15,000 invested in getting this car to run as well as it does. The stock LS1 is augmented by a ProCharger supercharger installed by Hutter Performance in Chardon, Ohio. Perhaps youve heard of themHutter Racing Engines has been putting some of the fastest hardware on the tracks for years, so their ability to build some incredible hardware is not in question. The blower lives down low in the engine bay, and feeds an air-to-air intercooler up top that force feeds the engine cool, pressurized air. Fuel system modifications allow the LS1 to take advantage of the increased airflow, with bigger injectors, revised fuel maps, and an upgraded fuel pump. Youll also note a BBK SSI aluminum intake in place of the original plastic piecealthough the original LS1 intakes are pretty good, when youre dealing with boost, you need all the flow you can get. Dyno sheets that accompany the car peg the output at an impressive 454 rear-wheel horsepower. The rest of the engine bay is largely stock but beautifully maintained, with no signs of abuse or damage, and certainly no corrosion from being driven in foul weather. This car has been a toy from day one. In 2002, a vast majority of Firehawks were equipped with 6-speed manuals, but this one carries a 4-speed automatic, and is one of only 489 cars so equipped, and one of only 364 Trans Am Firehawks with an automatic, so its a very rare piece. While some will scoff at the automatic, combined with the supercharger, it makes for a very potent street car thats flat-out deadly in bracket racing at the track. This car also includes the optional Bilstein Ultra Performance Suspension Package, which really sharpens up the Firehawks reflexes on the street. Wheels are optional Firehawk chrome alloys wearing 275/40/17 BFGoodrich G-Force radials up front and Drag Radials out back. Now back to that Ebony Black bodyworkits as nice as any 9-year-old car weve ever seen. These cars seem to look best in black, which really accentuates the wedge profile and hides the overabundance of vents and scoops on the Trans Am models. Paint is in excellent condition, and Id be surprised if this car has spent any significant time in the rain. In addition to the standard Trans Am and Firehawk graphics, including the Firehawk monogram on the doors, this one has a set of electric blue stripes from Phoenix Graphix, which really sets it apart from the other cars weve featured. Theres also a Last of the Breed badge on the fenders, which seems appropriately prophetic given the demise of Pontiac just a few years later. This Firehawk also carries the optional rear deck lid spoiler, which makes the car seem longer and lower than the standard Trans Am piece. Yes, this car is just as nice as it looks in photos. The black leather interior is equally well preserved, although it does sport a few noteworthy upgrades. The first thing youll notice are the A-pillar mounted Auto Meter gauges for boost and fuel pressure; critical if youre going to run a supercharger. The deeply sculpted black leather seats are in excellent condition and snow almost no wear, despite being almost a decade old. The Trans Am Firehawks are typically loaded with every single option Pontiac could throw at them, including A/C, power windows, power locks, a powerful stereo system, and a power antenna. This car also carries T-tops, which stow neatly in the trunk. Jim Wangers, the legendary Pontiac advertising executive, has personally signed the passenger side sun visor on this car, and was obviously impressed by the build quality and overall condition of this car. This car also comes with a huge stack of documents. Of course we have things like the window sticker, SLP sticker, EPA statements, and original owners manuals, But this one also includes the SLP supplements like the Certificate of Birth, the optional commemorative portfolio, as well as a big stack of receipts for all the work thats been done. The car also includes copies of all previous titles, purchase documents from the original dealership, a dealer video promoting the SLP Pontiacs, dyno sheets, a manual for the ProCharger supercharger, and even information from the Firehawk Association of America. There are no secrets in this Poncho. The bottom line is that these are some seriously cool cars, and theyre getting harder and harder to find in this condition as the years roll by. Potent when they were new, this one has been taken to the next level thanks to some substantial modifications. The work is high quality throughout, and the car runs so well, it passes the local emissions inspections while still delivering sub-12 second capabilities at the track. No compromises, a limited production number, and beautifully preserved, this Firehawk will fly out of here just as fast as the others. If you want it, here it is. Call now!
