He is dedicated to both winning on the racetrack and establishing trusted race engineered and track proven performance cars for the street. Wearing a familiar black, silver and red color scheme, this custom built Chevrolet Camaro RC2 has a 650 horsepower LSX V8, is the first of a limited production run from RCR.
It all started in 2007 with plans for the RCR Intimidator Series 3 Camaros. The Intimidator Series 3 was a limited run of 50 1969 Camaros built to honor the late Dale Earnhardt and pay homage to Richard Childress first race car, a 1969 Camaro. The car featured Chevrolets SB-2 racing engine and was so well engineered that it outpaced a 2010 Nissan GT-R around Hallet Motor Racing Circuit. On January 19, 2008 the first Intimidator Series 3 production car, carrying the serial number three sold at Barrett-Jackson for $575K. In 2010, RCR Street Performance was founded by the dedicated staff of Richard Childress Racing with one goal in mind: to apply years of hands on knowledge and winning tradition to reliable and proven performance cars for the street. These cars wouldnt just turn heads with awesome good looks, they would consist of track tested performance components that would be engineered to the exact specifications of racers and sold as complete performance packages. That dedication to building the perfect car resulted in the RCR Street Performance Camaro program and provides you, the enthusiast with the exclusive opportunity to purchase a purpose built performance car from an actual race team.
This killer 2011 Camaro RC2 is the first weve offered through a partnership between RK Motors Charlotte and Richard Childress Racing. The guys at RCR Street Performance threw the book at these cars and the result is turn-key performance packages that feature the sinister good looks of the 2011 Camaro, a NASCAR race car equaling 650 horses under the hood and a suspension that is built for the track. Who better to take race winning performance to the streets than Richard Childress and who better to market and sell these exclusive cars than RK Motors Charlotte? With only test miles on its odometer, the car came straight from the RCR Street Performance shop to our RK Motors Charlotte showroom. The factory body panels are covered in showroom caliber GM gloss black and display excellent fit and finish. At the front of the car, an already menacing Camaro SS specific front bumper receives a carbon fiber front valence that would look right at home on a NASCAR stock car and a custom billet grille insert. Above that valence, HID headlamps with round halos sit at either side of a custom GM Heritage grille and combine with factory fog lights in black factory surrounds to provide excellent illumination. Behind the grille, a custom hood with a carbon fiber hood scoop and mesh air intakes wears painted silver graphics that are outlined in red. At the side of the car, the clean black profile wears another painted silver and red graphic that traces the cars front and rear fender lines to better define its classic muscle car shape. Below the door, carbon fiber side skirts match the ground to body ratio of the carbon fiber front valence and widen to line up with massive 10.5 inch wide rear tires. Ornamentation is simple and to the point with a factory chrome Camaro badge behind the front tire and RCR Street Performance integrated into the custom paint on the rear fender. At the back of the car, a NASCAR inspired high profile rear spoiler sits above blacked out rear marker lights and a blacked out tail panel that houses blacked out tail lights. Below the blacked out tail panel, a carbon fiber RCR Street Performance air diffuser houses stainless tips that flow from the cars cat back stainless exhaust system. At the corners of the car, 22 inch custom machined wheels are painted with matte black accents and include red stripes, RCR Street Performance center caps. Mounted to those custom wheels is 265/35/22 front and 295/30/22 rear Pirelli P-Zero performance radials. The trademark black, silver and red Richard Childress Racing color scheme is instantly recognizable to anyone familiar with the last 25 years of Richard Childress Racing. And when combined with the carbon fiber body pieces and custom wheels it creates an absolutely killer look that is befitting of this cars performance ability.
Raise the completely finished custom hood on this Camaro and youll find a bad ass GM Performance Parts LSX 454 that has been dyno tuned and perfected by Richard Childress Racing. Introduced by GM in 2007, this competition developed engine utilizes a cast iron block, electronic fuel injection, aluminum LS7 Corvette heads with titanium valves, a high lift camshaft, a forged steel crank, forged connecting rods, forged pistons and an 11 to 1 compression ratio to make an impressive 620 horsepower. When the motor is bolted into an RC2 Camaro it receives a custom cold air intake, custom RCR Street Performance spark plugs wires with Kevlar boots, custom 1.75 inch primary stainless steel headers and custom valve covers for an even more impressive 650 horsepower. Ignition is supplied by a trunk mounted Odyssey battery and carried through a race engine inspired sanitized wiring harness which emphasizes RCR Street Performances dedication to OEM level build skills.
Underneath the car, a factory Tremec 6060 6-speed manual transmission is shifted by a Stage 4 twin disc high performance clutch with a billet steel flywheel, and sends power to a factory limited slip rear end which has received a performance 4.33 ring and pinion upgrade and 1500 horsepower high performance chrome axles. Built around the cars upgraded transmission and rear end is a factory Macpherson strut front and independent rear suspension that has been augmented by a Pfadt Racing Engineering Stage 3 performance suspension kit that includes 1.25 inch drop springs at each corner of the car, front and rear performance sway bars, solid rear subframe bushings, upgraded rear tie rods with new bushings and upgraded rear trailing arms with new bushings. The cars factory variable ratio, speed sensitive power steering and Stabilitrak traction control system benefit from the addition of a 4 wheel Wilwood custom caliper big brake kit that provides better stopping and aids in handling. Bolted to the cars custom headers is a custom tuned stainless steel exhaust system that is complete with free flow catalytic converters and a monstrous large displacement exhaust note.
In the cockpit of this Camaro, a custom embroidered RCR Street Performance interior carries over the two toned theme of the exterior and features RCR Street Performance logos and suede accents. The heritage inspired dash houses a Driver Information Center between a square speedometer and square tachometer and features custom trim pieces that have been signed by Richard Childress himself. To the right of the driver, a Boston Acoustics premium audio system plays an AM/FM radio, a CD player, an MP3 player or XM satellite radio through 9 speakers ...For more information please call the seller.
